Zine Creation | Conceptualisation | Photography | Video Editing

“We Walk Where We Wanna.” is a collection that documents and celebrates desire paths, exploring the unofficial shortcuts people create when the ‘official’ route just doesn’t cut it.

I explored and documented desire paths around the city with photography and videography. To give my visuals an introspective point of view, I made use of a green wash gradient and traced the paths with a simple red line and highlighted key points like start and end, or its interactions with humans, with boxes.

Attached to the zine is a QR code, which links to a video version of the zine, where I compiled a couple of videos edited with an annotation style. I wanted it to feel like the viewer’s unspoken and subconscious thoughts were written out loud in order for them to reexperience desire paths. Some ‘thoughts’ are extracted from interviews I conducted with passers-by.
